Accessibility Statement for Visit Uganda
Visit Uganda is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for everyone. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Visit Uganda is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. - Clear and Consistent Navigation: The website's navigation is designed to be clear, consistent, and easy to understand, helping users find the information they need quickly and efficiently.
- Sufficient Color Contrast: Color contrast ratios have been carefully considered to ensure that text is easily readable against its background.
- Resizable Text: Users can easily resize text using their browser settings to improve readability.
- Semantic HTML: Semantic HTML markup is used throughout the website to provide a clear structure and meaning to content, making it easier for assistive technologies to interpret.
- Form Labels and Instructions: All form fields are properly labeled, and clear instructions are provided to assist users in completing forms accurately.
- Aria Attributes: Strategic use of ARIA attributes improves the accessibility of dynamic content and interactive elements.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some users may experience difficulties in accessing specific areas of our website. We are actively working to identify and address these issues. Known limitations include:
- Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible: We are auditing and remediating existing PDF documents to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
- Some third-party plugins or content may not be fully accessible: We are working with our vendors to address any accessibility issues in third-party content.
